Architecture, Interior Architecture, Nautical Design departments of Faculty of Architecture at the Maltepe University is organizations that are educating service organizers and designers from minimum to maximum scale. Therefore the integrated education model is developed in order to balance the tuition structure within EU criteria and for serving fort he health of the citizens, security, prosperity and to develop a secure and qualified living environments.

Under this vision, our faculty aims to bring skills of understanding the problems, critical thinking and  modeling, providing functional systems for people, ability of analyzing and designing for development and management, understanding global artistic, economic, social and industrial tendencies and pioneering social transformations in this manners, understanding the capacities of knowledge are running over the educational institutions within changing world and therefore developing a life long learning, developing and transforming mentality.

An integrated education model is accepted for the education system of the Faculty of Architecture, which is theory and practice merged and design studio based system.  Students of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Nautical Design departments started their 2011-2012 Academic years according to this new Integrated Education model of the Faculty and accordingly students of Architecture and Interior Architecture departments for two years and students of Nautical Design department for a year will be getting a joint education. Through this integrated Education Model doing major in two departments (2 graduation diplomas) as well as possibility of changing majors via lateral transfer is becoming possible. Besides the spaces that are being used during the undergraduate education, a newly constructed “workshop space” is supporting the theory and practice integrity via modeling workshop, material lab, construction workshop within its space.

In this context the integrated education model is forcing within the joint interaction of the theory and practice in the field of Architecture as an applicable science, technology and art. Thus the departments of the faculty are mainly structured as mutually related, letting the students and the tutors interact, participate, open for scientific developments and innovations and supportive for personal developments. Main targets of the faculty are raising free thinking, scientifically modern and creative minds that are participative, capable in team work, ethically responsible and respectful students while following a modern educational structure, supporting a progressive environment where global and local scientific, technological and artistic changes and developments are being followed.
